PRESTO is unavailable between the hours of 11:40 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday between the hours of 11:40 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., and on Sunday between the hours of 11:40 p.m. and 9:00 a.m.

Attention Faculty Entering Final Grades -- *BEFORE YOU LOG ONTO PRESTO*

Some faculty members have encountered problems using PRESTO with certain operating systems and browser combinations; they are receiving an error message when submitting grades that says: "Page Not Found". Before you log onto PRESTO, we strongly recommend that you:

1. Confirm that you have a correct browser version. If you do not have the correct version, you will be able to enter all of your grades but not submit them. (You will get a "Page not found" error and will have to start over.) To confirm you have the correct browser version, please decide what kind of computer you will use to submit grades.

  • If you will be using a PC, we recommend using Internet Explorer; ONLY Internet Explorer 7 or lower will work. Do not use IE 8.

  • If you will be using a Mac, determine what operating system you are using. (Go to the Apple Menu and choose "About this Mac".) We highly recommend using FireFox 3.5.5 with Mac's; we have tested this version and it works well.

  • Mac OS 10.2, 10.3 and 10.4 WILL work with FireFox 2.x or 3.0.4.

  • Mac OS 10.3 will also work with Internet Explorer 5.2.3 (a very old version and not available) and Safari 1.3.2 (not available for download). Both of these may be on some older machines.

  • Mac OS 10.4 and Mac OS 10.5 will NOT work with Safari 3.X

  • Do not use Google's browser, Chrome.

If you have Firefox and plan to use it to submit grades:
1. Make sure that you are using FireFox 3.5.5 If you have FireFox 1.x or 2.x on your Mac, you will need to go to your applications folder and throw the old version of FireFox away before getting the new version - to avoid confusion. Then empty your trash.

2. You can get the latest version of FireFox from http://www.getfirefox.com.Once the new FireFox icon is on your desktop, double-click to open, then click on the button in the upper right hand corner (toolbar button). That opens up a listing of folders on the left hand side of the window and the FireFox icon (the fox encircling the earth). Drag the FireFox icon into the applications folder on the left (not the picture of the applications folder on the right). Close the FireFox window that is open and drag the FireFox icon on the desktop to the trash.

3. To get FireFox in the Dock, go to the applications folder and open FireFox. Then click and hold on the FireFox icon in the Dock and choose "Keep in Dock" from the pop-up menu.

Payroll has moved! Payroll has been relocated to the Department of Human Resources effective Tuesday, September 4, 2007. Payroll is still located on the second floor of the Service Building and employees may be reached at the same telephone numbers. Nothing else has changed, but the location.

Web for Employees provides access to your own valuable, confidential information about dependents, direct deposit, earnings, payroll, deductions, and tax forms. Web for Employees can be accessed by logging-in below.

Please Note: Courses which are offered for variable credit default to the lowest number of credit hours when added via PRESTO. To change the number of credit hours go to VARIABLE HOURS OPTION on the STUDENT REGISTRATION menu.

Browser Requirements
The PRESTO system supports Netscape and Internet Explorer. Other browsers are not supported--they may or may not permit you to connect to PRESTO, and they may or may not be fully compatible with the PRESTO system. Please note that this reflects decisions made by our software vendor, not decisions made directly by the Center for Information Technology. To protect your privacy, the PRESTO server is configured to encrypt information sent to your browser, and to receive information that has been encrypted by your browser. Consequently, you must use a browser that supports SSL 2 or SSL 3 to login to the PRESTO system. Netscape 2 and above, and Internet Explorer 3 and above, meet this criterion. In general, the more recent the browser release, the faster its performance.

If your browser issues an error message when you click on the login icon, or your login attempt fails without an error message, you may need to change your browser's SSL settings. Follow this link for assistance.

NOTE: If this is your first time to log into PRESTO, you will login using your default PIN. After the login, there will be two steps you will need to complete. You will receive a notice that says your PIN has expired. You will be asked to enter the expired PIN and a new PIN (must be 6 characters). You will then be asked to enter a security question and answer that will enable you to reset your PIN (in case you have forgotten it) and gain access to your information. You will then be able to proceed using PRESTO.
